Dallas Flea

I ran in to some audio problems while using my Canon 7D and Rode Videomic. I’m not sure if the mic connection jiggled loose, or if the camera “forgot” that the mic was attached while switching back and forth from photo to video mode. Nevertheless, here’s some hacked together footage of the few shots that… Continue reading Dallas Flea

Saturday at the Modern

Erin and I met up with Joslyn and Bryan for lunch… then to the Warhol exhibit at the Modern. Although I haven’t visited every museum in the DFW area, I think this will remain my favorite.

BEScavenger: A Photo Scavenger Hunt and Pub Crawl

Erin and I co-hosted a birthday party on Saturday night. Since we didn’t have any experience with a mobile + tech event, I was worried about how it would come together. However, I was surprised to see how many people participated. And it was fun! Here’s how to roll your own mobile, real-time photo scavenger… Continue reading BEScavenger: A Photo Scavenger Hunt and Pub Crawl

Art Conspiracy 5

Here’s my first piece made with my new Canon 7D. Audio recorded with a Zoom H2. Lessons Learned: Recording live… Continue reading Art Conspiracy 5

Las Vegas Neon Boneyard

I found inspiration from Erin on this piece. On her last work trip to Las Vegas, she toured the famous Neon Boneyard. I was fascinated by her photos from the tour. I’m also mildly obsessed with typography. So this was a perfect fit for a painting project. (Click small versions to load the large images.)

Drillbaby Project

I’m thinking about the relationship of oil (a finite resource) to the earth. And then I played off the idea of “mother earth.” I think this illustration project captures my thoughts. I’m not saying that we’re running out of oil (we won’t for another long, long while, anyways). Maybe it’s a hater’s proposal to find… Continue reading Drillbaby Project

Pistol Cutout Project

I wanted to work with paper and cutouts… playing with the juxtaposition of violence and beauty. Oh, and I’m loving the Camera Bag App for iPhone. Cool. Supplies – card stock – various colors – exact-o knife (these are NOT die cut) – glue
