Weekend Project: Frames

I must admit that I spend way more time at my girlfriend’s apartment than mine. Having said that, I don’t put enough effort as I should in “nesting” up the place. However, I did spend a few dollars on some new frames. And apologies to Eric Smith. I picked up one of his “live now”… Continue reading Weekend Project: Frames

Running… again [!]

Today was my 4th run after this nasty cold (that hung on for two weeks) and I’m feeling my stamina and confidence coming back. I did a 4-mile Katy Trail route tonight… full of easy joggin’ and a tee tiny bit of walking at the half-way point. Still incredibly sore from playing tennis on Monday.… Continue reading Running… again [!]

Avery Schafer: Birth Announcement

For a side project, I helped my sister get a design together for her baby girl’s birth announcement. I think these turned out pretty nice. I’m not in love with the font on the bottom section. Typography No-Nos aside, it turned out aok!

Church Newsletter

I’ve been producing my church’s newsletter since June 2007 and it all seems a blur by this point. It’s amazing how lucky I’ve been in coordinating the effort (with priceless help from my dad – a mentor in more ways than he’ll ever know) and people have generally accepted and embraced the change. And I’m… Continue reading Church Newsletter

Ant Farm – Update

Once they dug main boundaries, they started to fill in connector tunnels. The connector tunnels haven’t been completed with the fervor of… Continue reading Ant Farm – Update

Ant Farm: Days 2 – 4

Wow, these ants have made some serious progress. It feels nice to take a little time to document the progress of the Ant Team (potential play on words avoided here, gosh I wanted to go A-team on you… so bad) and share their journey with you. And amidst heckling from friends, I maintain my course… Continue reading Ant Farm: Days 2 – 4

Ant Farm – Day 1

So Santa gave me an ant farm this year. I finally ordered the ants online and they showed up last night in my mailbox, sealed in a padded envelope in a tidy tube. So I poked some starter holes for these larger-than-life pinchers, sheepishly opened up the test tube, and by no small act of… Continue reading Ant Farm – Day 1

Back!

I just got back to work again after a quick trip to Charlotte to meet the rest of Erin’s family. I also had the chance to meet a bunch of Erin’s friends, and we went out on the town for New Year’s Eve. Next week signals the beginning of another semester. I’m taking 6 hours… Continue reading Back!

Halloween Party

Melissa and Luke threw a Halloween party this past Saturday and it was a blast. Erin and I dressed up as Pepe le Pew and Penelope. It was a gas! Also, the Gene Simmons pumpkin turned out better than I expected. It didn’t look good until I got a candle in it, but then it… Continue reading Halloween Party
