The Dallas summer heat is in full force. Even though I had the hops plants located on the East side of the house (more late afternoon shade) the have still wilted and turned gangly. I’m feeling good about the low yield of cones nonetheless. With potential mosquito aerial spraying in the works, and with the general wilting of two-thirds of my hop cones, it was time to do a harvest. So what you see here is about one-third of the hop cone production. I had a nice small batch of cones growing, but lost most of them due to drying and wilting. Dang – I waited too long.
