It’s bulk trash week on our block, and I’m not sure if the city skipped us last time, or if every single household on our street took it upon themselves to keep “spring cleaning” in the common man’s vernacular. There are trash bags all over the place; it’s a feast for loose pets and strays.… Continue reading Trying to Get Ahead

New Pendant Light
We got a good deal on this beautiful Stonegate pendant light. It fits perfectly in the space, and with our sense of style. I’m very excited to have Robin and Keynan visiting – they are very handy and have made so many cool changes in our home in the past few days.
The Cedars Social
Nima and I went the check out The Cedars Social, a new bar near South Side on Lamar. It has a throwback, 50s / 60s feel going on. The drinks were good and the people were super nice. This is my new favorite place in the Lamar district.
Succulents 2.0
Some time during the two mega ice storms, we lost our succulent plants. It’s sad to see any plants keel over. We had them covered with a towel, but our plants lost the battle to the bitter cold. We are still figuring out what to bring inside when it freezes. Rookie move! Nevertheless, I have… Continue reading Succulents 2.0

I’m going to produce a documentary (video) piece about creative culture, and the “bubble” between professional people and their serious side projects.… Continue reading Bubble

I’m more amped about spreading the word and getting some exposure, and sharing our house info and hopefully inspring others in the process. Just… Continue reading We Need Your Vote for Behr’s “Room for Color 2010” Contest
On IDEO’s Future of the Book
Years ago, I watched a short documentary piece highlighting IDEO. Since then, I have felt fascinated and inspired with their products, product design process, people, culture and even the way that a hipster employee pulley-mounted his commuter bicycle so that it conserved space in the office environment. I would love to work at IDEO. Silly… Continue reading On IDEO’s Future of the Book
Day One
Erin and I just bought a house! We are super excited and there’s a lot of work to do. But we’re taking it one day at a time. Over the weekend, we painted, packed the old apartment, had appliances delivered, had a new hot water heater installed, and moved. Lots and lots and lots of… Continue reading Day One
Design Police
Bring bad design to justice. Awesome.
Typographic Systems: Kimberly Elam
I’m about half-way in to this book and I think it’s great to get a look at the different types of typographic systems. Lovely.
